What are dental prostheses? Dental Implants, Dentures, Partials, Bars in Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry

Dental prostheses are an artificial replacements for natural teeth. They can be made of acrylic, porcelain and other resin materials with high resistance. They are made to look real and, in most cases, are the best solution for partially or totally edentulous patients.  When replacing complete dentures, a whole set of dental prostheses is used (like All-on-4, all-on-6 or snap in dentures), but when we only fix a few gaps, we use what we call partial prostheses (like flippers or dental implant bridges).

Here in Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry, we work with the imported best materials, approved by the FDA. These are the same materials you would find on your dentist in USA. We have years of experience with dental prostheses and dental implants, specially on screw retained titanium bars for full mouth restorations. We can do a complete smile makeover in approximately between 8 and 10 working days, the perfect time to have a vacation in Cancun.

Failure to remedy tooth loss is not an option. Leaving the mouth with gaps can generate a lot of problems, both at a functional and aesthetic level. In fact, a toothless mouth creates a premature aging sensation in the face: the chin is pronounced and the lips are drawn in, among other consequences. But there are more reasons that can force us to use dental prostheses:

  • The patient has the opportunity to give his smile a natural look.
  • Dental prostheses act as a method of prevention against different oral diseases, like bone loss (also known as bone resorption).
  • The patient has trouble eating and his nutrition is gravely affected.
