A great dental experience with a Happy Patient!
Dental Implants in Cancun
We have another amazing dental case with a lovely patient who finally got the change she always wanted. Karen came from California looking for affordable dental implants and cosmetic dentistry and we were happy to help her out! This was her first time in Cancun and she took this opportunity to relax at her hotel and shop at the mall where our dental clinic is located. Two birds with one stone!
Her estimate for a similar dental treatment back home in United States was around a whooping $30,000 USD. Karen needed to find a solution for her dental problems and finally contacted us. Our dental planners were in touch with her through every step of the way, explaining everything she asked and putting her in contact with Doctor German Arzate.
When a patient contacts us we request they send pictures of their mouths and any x-ray available so our dentists in Cancun can take a look at them right away and make a pre-eliminary diagnosis. They can make a video with their comments and suggestions about possible treatments and you will get a link to the private video to watch it at home. This way you can see the expertise of our doctors.
Karen is pictured above with Doctor Yadira and Doctor Jesus, part of the staff of Doctor German Arzate. This is what Karen had to say about her dental experience in Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry:
My teeth were broken and hurt all the time. As soon as I saw Dr. Arzate in the youtube video about my treatment I made the decision.
Thank you for being helpful and nice. I appreciate you! Thank you!

What’s biofilm and how it affects my teeth? – Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry
Get rid of the Biofilm on your teeth - Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry
Perhaps you are not familiar with this word, but you are in contact with it every day. WHO defines “biofilm” as a proliferative and enzymatically active bacterial ecosystem. That is, it is a set of organisms that can adhere to several natural or artificial surfaces and then create colonies. Although in many cases the concentration of bacteria is beneficial to the environment, others can be quite damaging, suchs is the case of this type of biofilm.
What is dental biofilm?
Oral bacteria can be found in two ways: in saliva, suspended in the liquid or on a hard surface, forming an adherent film, which is known as dental biofilm. Also called plaque, is a set of microorganisms that binds to the walls of the teeth. If the plaque is not removed through oral hygiene, that is, if the microorganisms get the necessary substrates to survive and remain long on the tooth surface, can produce different types of diseases in your mouth.
What damage can it cause?
When the plaque adheres to the surface of the teeth, it can affect the surface structures of the teeth and thus leave “the door open” for the entry of bacteria and other microorganisms for cavitities. The dental biofilm is one of the main responsible for some of the most common oral diseases such as tooth decay – which affects 60 to 90% of the world population – gum disease, gingivitis, among others.
What to do to prevent it?
In addition to good oral hygiene habits at home, it is essential to make frequent visits to the dentist to perform a professional cleaning. This is because, once the plate is attached, tooth brushing alone is not enough to remove it. Biofilm is quite rigid and difficult to be removed, so special equipment is needed to remove it. You will need to visit your doctor once or twice a year to get rid of it.

Your dental experience in Cancun
Experience in Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry
Are you getting ready to travel to Cancun for vacation and your dental appointment? What can you expect to experience on your visit to this popular destination? Cancun is a modern beach city, with a population of over 800,000 people who mostly live in mainland Cancun. The Hotel Zone, the touristic part of the city, is located on a long strip flanked by a salt water lagoon and the amazing Caribbean Sea. Is quite technically a long thin island with restaurants and all types of hotels on each side of the main avenue. The whole Hotel Zone is urbanized and has two main exits through… one on the north that leads to the downtown area and the other exit leads close to the Cancun International Airport. You will get to the island through either of two small bridges that connect it to mainland.
Our dental clinic is actually pretty close to the entrance of the Hotel Zone. It’s just a 5 minute drive from to to get to Plaza Malecón Américas Shopping Mall. You will arrive to this amazing shopping center with dozens of luxury stores and several restaurants. The “Malecón” is the extension of Plaza Las Américas, which also features several accessories stores a cinema and even a super market. You can pretty much find anything you want here when you come to get your dental work.
You will be greeted by our staff at the entrance. If you already have an appointment, you might have been in touch with our dental planners before hand and the customer care staff will likely know you will be arriving at that time. You will be lead right away to our waiting area and after filling out your dental and medical history, you will be taken to a private dental unit where you won’t have to share “room” with any other patient. The doctors will talk with you and, depending on your treatment, you will likely get a panoramic x-ray on site.
