Full mouth restoration with All-on-4 or All-on-6 dental implants?

We receive a lot of questions about the difference about the All-on-4 and the All-on-6. What could be the best solution for you? Well, first of all, to perform these procedures you need to be a very skilled doctor because the placement of the All-on-4 implants is everything! They need to be set two in the front and two implants with inclination to the side. The all-on-6 protocol it’s different because you place 6 implants in a straight way. This technique you don’t do it with immediate load, this technique you do immediate load. If someone is telling that they do the All-on-4 in two stages is because they don’t know the right protocol. The right protocol is that you can perform those implants and you can do immediate load at once. Now, on all-on-6 you place the 6 implants and you wait from 3 to 6 months for the bone to heal then, afterwards, you are ready to perform the bar.

Which of those techniques is best for you? Well, it will depend on the height of the bone, you can’t do long implants in the posterior areas due to the inferior alveolar nerve. You don’t wanna touch the nerve so that’s why you usually use short implants.  In the end, they are different techniques, but it will depend on your doctor’s skills and a thorough evaluation. Both techniques are good and both techniques work very well.

Also, you must know that we can do a combined treatment if needed. In this video we can see one of our patients who got an adapted treatment of All-on-4 and All-on-6 with some modifications. We will tell you if you need anything else to complete your treatment and restore your smile.

inlay onlays crown overlay

While one of our most popular treatments are Zirconia Crowns, you might need an inlay, onlay or overlay instead. Crowns are not the same as inlays, overlays or onlays. Crowns envelop the entirety of the tooth, while the later usually deal with a small section. Perhaps you got a small cavity and want to restore that part of the tooth. Is it possible? Well, in all cases, the dentist will have to take a good look at you, take digital x-rays to check the integrity of your teeth and then decide what’s the best course of action. In many cases, your teeth might be in need of full restoration with crowns but it can also need just a partial restoration of its structure. The names are indicative of the form and space they will cover. They are made of different materials, usually porcelain or metal, but can also be made with a special composite filling that hardens. They can also be used to replace old or damaged metal fillings. In a way, they are more similar to veneers than to crowns, but fulfill almost the same function.

  • Inlay type restorations are indicated for premolars and molars with medium structure loss.
  • Onlay restorations are usually indicated for premolars and molars with structural loss greater than a third of the surface area.
  • Overlays are a little more extensive than onlays, being almost like a crown but not quite there.

In either case, if you want a porcelain inlay/onlay you would have to get impressions to redo the missing form of the tooth and make sure it fits correctly. The complete procedure is carried out over two appointments within the same week so it fits neatly on your dental vacation schedule. Perhaps the affected area could also get a resin filling instead of porcelain. Your dentists will suggest you the best course of action and any other alternative treatment you might need.

What makes us different than other dental clinics? Our staff!

For all these passing years, one of the main things we have worked hard to set us apart from other dental clinics is the amazing team of dentists, customer care and dental planners that give the most of themselves for each new patient that arrive through our doors. Dental clinics in USA don’t have a kind staff that looks after the needs of their patients. We have been told horror stories where they were treated like they were just «another mouth» to treat and never cared of their emotional state. On the other hand, we will do follow up calls all through the days the process takes to make sure everything is going well with you. Our dental planners and assistants will be ready to help you. For many of our patients, they say we have become like family to them.

One of those patients is Ruby, who had an excelente experience with us. She also loved visiting Cancun and enjoying the beach. This is the video she did to talk with you!

Well, my first name is Ruby, I’m from Dallas, Texas.

That’s why we came here and the doctor and my husband did talk the four about coming here, then he’s very sure he’s going to do a good job, that’s why we came here.

They’re great. I have no words to explain. Very nice. Very courteous. Always there whenever I asked them. This feeling deep here. She helped, Doctor Victoria. Doctor Dani.. Daniel? Doctor Cesar. They’re all really nice.

Oh, yeah very safe. Yeah, no, we are not scared of anything. They got the security, I see the guys, the police over here so… that makes the difference.

The great thing about coming to Cancun for your smile makeover with crowns is that you can enjoy the best dental service and the most amazing vacations at the same time. We usually need a week to finish the look of your new teeth, and while you wait you can go to have fun around downtown, Mercado 28, the Hotel Zone, Isla Mujeres and more. Thousands of Americans have come to our clinic to get first class dental treatments with the most professional staff. They leave as friends.

One of such patients is Henry who agreed to make a video testimonial review like many others we have. He got a smile makeover with crowns. Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully cup over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.

My name is Henry, I’m from New Jersey, United States I have some crown done and I also have two implants and I am very happy with the cosmetic portion, the feel and the bite is very good, the feel is very natural and I would be able to eat good things that I’d want to eat before this treatment. I could not probably to eat steaks and now I can enjoy steak. All the staff, all the staff is excellent, and dentists that treatment me all extremely confident, extremely professional. I am very happy to have had the treatment.
Cancun of course is a beautiful place and I glad to come down here. And this time, I spent nine days here, I enjoy every minute

Dental cleaning is the common name of a «dental prophylaxis«. In short, it is a process by which the dentist or dental hygienist will clean your teeth and gums from tartar (accumulation of plaque at the edges of your teeth). Performing dental cleaning regularly is the best way to remove plaque and supragingival calculus in order to prevent caries and periodontal disease.

The dental cleanings appointments per year depend a lot on the dental quality of your oral hygiene and your diet, but as a rule you should  should do a professional cleaning every 6 or 12 months. A dental cleaning is performed in a session of about 30 minutes and does not cause any harm. If the patient has any periodontal infection, the dental hygienist may recommend a deep cleaning instead. A dental cleaning’s main objective is the removal of tartar that accumulates on teeth and can not be removed with the patient hygiene techniques applied at home. There’s in nothing to be ashamed for, it would hurt you more not to get your cleaning in the long run.

The dentist will use stainless steel instruments with  tiny heads that allow cleaning teeth and interdental spaces. The dentist or hygienist will reach every nook and remove supra- and subgingival plaque, including the base of the teeth, where dental calculus is placed under the gumline. Once the scraping is completed the periodontist uses a paste for polishing the surface of the parts and thus finish cleaning.

If dental conditions are bad two sessions may be needed to remove all the tartar from the teeth. Usually, just one session is needed and it only cause slight discomfort. If you maintain a good hygiene with your mouth and go to your dental cleanings periodically you will prevent a wide range of diseases with high risk of tooth loss. Coming to Cancun for you vacation once a year is the perfect opportunity to get the most affordable price on your dental cleaning with the most professional dentist staff.

High Quality Dental Implants Cost in Cancun

When it comes to high quality dental implants for an affordable price, Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry is the right answer for you. Our dear patient Mike found out about us some years ago and he was very happy to be able to smile again without spending outrageous sums of money. Dental implants in Cancun cost about $899 USD, plus abutment and crown for $750 USD. Mike got an estimate for the same kind of implants in USA for about $3,000 USD each. There was no way he was going to afford that. Luckily for him, cheaper doesn’t mean low quality. We use the exact same brands and FDA approved materials as the best dentists in USA. You can confirm with our dental planners by chatting with them on the instant chat window in the lower left corner of the page.

Going back to Mike, he loves Cancun. He enjoys having a vacation here to go sightseeing and taking his favorite drink while relaxing at the beach. There are many things to do in Cancun and he always recommends people to come. He also recommends our services. In fact he left this small message the last time he visited us:

Doctor Cesar – wonderful. Doctor Wendy – wonderful. This clinic is fabulous! Upfront about prices. High quality, reasonable prices and friendly competent staff. This is my fifth time here. Highly recommended!

Mike is pictured above with Doctor Victoria and Paty, our dental planner. These are a couple of faces you will get acquaintanced with during your appointments. We always make sure you feel at home and at ease to have the most pleasant dental experience.

Dental Implant and Crown happy patient at our Dental Clinic in Cancun

We had the privilege of having Maria Baum at our dental clinic in Cancun this year. She has been a loyal patient and has visited in the past. From the first time we were impressed by her. Maria works with an association against domestic abuse offering protection and assistance to mothers and children in dangerous situations at home. We couldn’t be happier to help her regain a wonderful smile.  She came to us looking for implants and crowns when she started to lose her teeth because of her age, and we did our best to give her an improved smile.  Maria was born in Mexico but now she lives in Florida with her husband… she still decided to enjoy a vacation here in Cancun and has also been to Playa del Carmen and even Cozumel Doctor German Arzate was in charge of her dental work, and Maria couldn’t be happier with her results. She told us she would recommend our clinic and our work with her close acquaintances in Florida and we are very thankful for that.

Dental work in Florida can be very expensive. Cancun is just a two hour direct flight away from Miami! Here you can also enjoy the Caribbean Sea and the archaeological sites of the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan Peninsula. You can save up to 70% on crowns and dental implants by having them done at our first class facility. Send us your x-rays and photos so we can give you a personal evaluation of your case at no charge.  If you want to know more about our services call toll free from USA and Canada 1-800-565-1424, or if you are already on vacation in Cancun and want to meet us, you can call us for an appointment at the following local number (998) 1-40-51-25.

Happy Patient Review Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry

We had the privilege of having Nora Gutierrez at Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry. She is a Mexican expat living in North Carolina for the last decade. Her teeth had always been a high priority for her but eventually her dental problems started to grow: crowns, root canals, bridges… Dentists in USA offered her some discounts on her treatments but that wasn’t enough… she simply couldn’t afford it. It was not so long ago that a friend recommended us to her, saying she could save up to 70% on her treatment.  Nora was skeptical at first. She went to our website and after looking through the information available about dental implants she decided to take the shot.

As soon as she arrived at our clinic she realized she was in good hands. Our facilities are state of the art, with the best equipment available and decorated with paintings and sculptures made by German Arzate, our head doctor. He’s also an artist with highly skilled hands and excellent spacial perception.

Nora realized that (in her case) the total cost of her implants would be around 60% cheaper than in USA. She knows Mexico, she knows Cancun and knows that Mexican dentists have much more hands on experience than their USA counterparts because dental care is much more affordable here.

Nora finished up the first half of her treatment and she feels no additional discomfort beyond what you would expect from a dental surgery. She told us she had friends already expecting her to come back to tell them her experience to see if they would also come to our clinic. She’s pictured above with our Mexican dentist Dr. Cesar Ibañez.

«The attention was really good. The people are kind. I’m ready to recommend the clinic. The doctors, the staff, they were awesome!»

You can also improve your smile while enjoying the white sand beaches of the Caribbean!

Beware: Oral Health can affect your pregnancy.

When a woman realizes she is pregnant she focuses on improving her overall health. She starts to eat better, takes necessary supplements and tries to avoid any hazardous activities. What many might overlook is how much the dental health of an expectant mother might influence on her pregnancy.  Research has indicated that women with periodontal disease may be at risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such giving birth to a pre-term or low-birth weight baby, reports the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) and the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP).

Periodontal disease is a chronic, bacteria-induced, inflammatory condition that attacks the gum tissue and in more severe cases, the bone supporting the teeth. If left untreated, periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, can lead to tooth loss and has been associated with other systemic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

Tenderness, redness, or swollen gums are a few indications of periodontonal disease. Other symptoms include gums that bleed with toothbrushing or eating, gums that are pulling away from the teeth, bad breath, and loose teeth. These signs, especially during pregnancy, should not be ignored and may require treatment from a dental professional.

Pregnancy and gum disease, Dental healthRoutine brushing and flossing, and seeing a periodontist, dentist, or dental hygienist for a comprehensive periodontal evaluation during pregnancy may decrease the chance of adverse pregnancy complications. It is important for expectant mothers to monitor their periodontal health and to have a conversation with their periodontist or dentist about the most appropriate care. By maintaining your periodontal health, you are not only supporting your overall health, but also helping to ensure a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby.

Usually, antibiotics are prescribed, but for pregnant women with periodontal disease their options are reduced; dental cleanings and the use of special mouthwash might be recommended instead. Getting the necessary dental care in USA and Canada might be too costly, especially with all the incoming expenses for the baby.  We can provide dental cleanings much cheaper than in USA with the same quality.  If you want to know more about our services call toll free from USA and Canada 1-800-565-1424, or if you are already on vacation in Cancun and want to meet us, you can call us for an appointment at the following local number (998) 1-40-51-25.
