Winter Vacation in Cancun while getting cheap dental work
You might like to know that many of our patients come to Cancun during the winter season for the most obvious of all: Cancun’s weather! Cancun is located in the eastern side of Mexico. For all intents and purposes, Cancun has a tropical climate with little temperature variation between seasons. The average temperatures almost always stay over the 20°C or 68F, making it the perfect spot to spend the strongest part of the winter.
Our patients says they love Cancun on these days because they can go out to walk on the beach and even enjoy jungle tours, while, in comparison, they would have been turning up the heating back home, unable to go out. Also, they say they simply feel so energized because we have so much sun here. Just to give you an idea, in Winter’s Solstice (the shortest day of the year) we have 11 hours daylight!
Forget about snowstorms and blizzards and simply enjoy a little over a week in Cancun while you get your dental work gets done by our professional staff. That’s the other thing our patients love: the amazing helpful staff at our dental clinic in Cancun. They will always try to make you feel at home. We understand it might feel overwhelming to get any kind of treatment on another country, but our staff will do their best to help you relax and enjoy your visit. The customer care and the doctors all speak English and Spanish and will explain every detail of your treatment so you can go back into enjoying the amazing warm weather of Cancun as soon as you are done. You will still have a chance to do your favorite things to do in Cancun!

Get cheap dental cleanings in Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry at low cost
For today’s case we are going to do a throwback to last October with our dear patient Amber from Alaska. She came with her husband Timothy to have a wonderful dental vacation in Cancun. They are pictured above with Doctor Wilmer Travieso, one of our dentists in Cancun. We talked about Timothy before in this post. Amber and Timothy had come to Cancun specifically looking for cheap dental cleanings because the estimate back home was too expensive (over $1000 USD). They knew a dental cleaning is essential to keep their mouth healthy.
People often neglect their teeth by pushing back their dentist appointment or ignoring them altogether. This is very worrisome as it is calculated that at least 50% of all American adults have some level of gum disease. Gum disease and other mouth related aliments can start by the accumulation of bacteria from the left over food trapped between our teeth that not even brushing and normal flossing can reach. This is why is so important that you get a dental cleaning twice (or at least once) a year.
Amber and Timothy were very smart and made plans for a dental cleaning during their vacation days. They had looked through the internet and the amount of information and videos about Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry were the enough to make them decide this was the best option for them. The costs of dental cleanings was affordable and it wouldn’t take much time.
This is what Amber had to say about her experience with us:
Good service and helpful staff. Very helpful and friendly.
Thank you Amber! We always try to make our patients feel at home among friends. Our customer service will be with you at each step of your procedure, answering all your questions in English to make sure there are no confusions.

Today we would like to thank to another of our dear patients, Aaron, who came from Canada. Aaron was looking for options to get his dental treatments for a good price. Sadly, the costs of dentistry where he lived were too expensive. Then he found Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry where he could get dental cleanings, crowns, inlays and fillings for a fraction of a price without compromising the quality of materials.
Aaron came to Cancun to get dental work done but also to enjoy the Holidays. Cancun is the perfect option for a vacation in winter as the temperature never goes lower than 13°C/55F. In fact, last year we had a very temperate weather in December with a record low of 14°C/57F at night. While for most of the locals this is extremely cold, we know our dear patients from USA and Canada find this weather simply delightful. They take the chance to go out to walk on the beach, go fishing or take an adventure tour. During December there’s also the opportunity to go to Chichen Itza to witness the Winter Solstice event at the pyramid.
This is what Aaron had to say about us:
Doctors were good and had good information about up-keep and preventive care to keep good teeth. Staff was great to deal with I really enjoyed the staff.
This is very important for us. Our doctors will always explain to you all the necessary steps to take care of your dental work. They speak in English so everything is clear.

Current technology is advancing at a shocking pace and your dental fillings are just one of the things that will likely change in the future. You better start getting familiar with this now.
As some of our readers and patients might know already, the history ofdental fillings as been a complicated one. Humans had always tried to find a way to cover the decay of their teeth one way or another, experimenting with all kinds of materials. Researches have found filling made out of beeswax from 6500 years ago. Sadly, organic materials would tend to rot themselves of accelerate tooth decay. It wasn’t until the 1800’s when the amalgam was developed to fill the tooth with softened metal containing a mix of copper, silver, tin and mercury. For a long time the presence of mercury was a red flag for many people, even when the safe amount of mercury has been regulated to make it safe for patients.
Even here at Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry, we use white resin fillings to give it a more natural look. This way no one will notice the work in your mouth. You can smile all you want!
In any case, researchers at the Oregon State University have made some promising findings about the ability to “bioactivate” glass to reduce the ability of bacteria to attack composite tooth filling, and perhaps even provide some of the minerals needed to restore the decayed area. This would prolong the life of composite tooth fillings! The idea is to use this special crushed glass and use it as part of the filling. It’s called “bioactive” because the body notices it is there and can react to it, as opposed to other biomedical products that are inert. This will make strong
We will have to wait for them to continue their research. Hopefully, dentists in Mexico, USA and Canada will be able to use this new technology in the future to restore smiles on our patients. In the mean time, you can always come to our clinic during your vacation in Cancun.

Happy Patient solved his dental problem during his vacation in Cancun!
Dental work with affordable dentists in Cancun.
Here’s another happy patient story we want to share with you! Douglas was visiting the Plaza Las Americas shopping mall when he came upon our dental clinic in Cancun. He was familiar with Cancun and loves to relax at the beach and play golf when he can. But when his tooth started hurting he knew he needed a good doctor in Cancun to help him. He made an appointment with our customer service and he was ready to say good bye to that troublesome tooth. He got a tooth extracted quickly with local anesthesia.
When we asked him to leave us a message explaining his experience he told us this:
Procedure and future needed treatments explained very well.
This is very important for us. When you come to us, our dentists will sit with you and explain every detail and answer every question you have in English, so you don’t have any doubts about what you need to be aware of. For example, perhaps Douglas will look to get dental implants in Cancun in the future to replace the missing tooth. That way, his maxillary bone will still be having stimulation from the root of the implant and it will prevent accelerated bone resorption.
Douglas was very happy with our services and facilities, saying they were both excellent. Our dental clinic is a first class facility with 6 private units, the best equipment and the same materials used in USA and Canada. We will be able to help you if you have a dental emergency during your vacation in Cancun.

We got a visit again from our good friends Sheldon and Maria who came to their dentists in Cancun for an affordabledental crown and dental bridge. Sheldon and his lovely wife Maria came down to Mexico all the way from Naples, Florida. We meant to share this one a few weeks back, but with the holiday season we were very busy. You might remember them from a previous entry on our blog.
Sheldon is pictured above along with Maria, Doctor German Arzate and with a small sculpture on his hands. This sculpture is one of the Doctor’s favorites at the clinic. He wanted Sheldon to get a good look at it as he has also a sculpting hobby. Doctor German Arzate happens to be a very good sculptor himself, and most if not all of the figures at the dental clinic are his. Just like with his dental work, he takes great care on all the details.
This time around, Sheldon and Maria made the most of their stay in Cancun by enjoying the beach. They were happy of having dental vacations again because by now they thought our dental clinic in Cancun was professional, friendly and vastly superior than their previous experiences with dentists in Florida. They considered our Mexican dentists to be knowledgeable, helpful and reassuring.

Patient was very happy with our Dentists in Cancun!
Find good and cheap Dentists in Cancun
Today we would like to talk about our dear patient Jorge Luis who is a Colombian living in Sweden and our dentists in Cancun had the privilege of helping him get his dental inlay. He had come to Cancun because, as he said, “it is a beautiful place for vacations!”. He travels quite a lot and loves surfing so it was very easy for him to decide to come to enjoy the tropical beaches while it’s winter in Sweden. He was staying at Isla Mujeres, the small island right off the coast of Cancun. Jorge Luis was shopping at the Plaza Las Americas Shopping Mall when he came about our dental clinic. He was really impressed with the facilities and decided right there he would get his dental work here.
Our clinic’s facilities are on par with some of the best dental clinics in USA and Europe, so Jorge Luis simply couldn’t miss the chance to get the best possible care at a much affordable price. He needed a dental inlay. An inlay is a restoration of a cavity in the tooth with some special material (zirconium, porcelain, resin, etc). An impression of the affected area is made and the inlay is worked from that model to make sure it fits perfectly on your teeth. The process takes around 8 days and this means you can go on vacation normally while the lab is doing the inlay.
Jorge Luis wrote this about his experience with our dental clinic in Cancun:
I think it was professional and I liked a lot the attention from the staff. I needed this work and I’m very happy.
He is pictured above with one of our Mexican dentists, doctor Yadira Badillo.

Gum disease is one of the most common maladies in Dentistry second only to cavities and impacted wisdom teeth. A 2010 study found that almost 50% of american adults have developed some level of periodontitis (gum disease). This is really important to know because YOU could have it right now and not realize it. Untreated gum disease can lead to several dental complications like tooth loss and accelerated bone loss! The disease is caused by bacteria that is living in your mouth and affecting the tissue of your gums (inflammation). You must remove the food leftover plaque from your teeth every time you brush your teeth and floss.
You really don’t want to lose your teeth any time soon… while you could replace them with our affordable dental implants, that’s still quite an investment that could have been prevent by very VERY easy steps.
How do I know if I have gum disease?
There are several signs you need to look out when you brush your teeth after every meal:
Bad Breath – If even after you wash your teeth and use a mouthwash you STILL have bad breath that’s one of the symptoms you might have gum disease.
Red/swollen gums – The bacteria is irritating your gum tissue!
Tender/Bleeding gums – Caused by inflammation from bacteria.
Painful chewing – The tooth itself might not hurt but the area around it might. Receding gums or teeth “looking longer” – You could have started to notice that your teeth look longer. This is because the gums are shrinking because of the disease. There might be pain and sensitivity as the root of the teeth get exposed.
Loose teeth – This is an emergency sign telling you you need to go to the dentist ASAP. It could mean the bone around your teeth has receded too much and you might be in danger of actually losing your teeth!
Make sure you go to your dentist twice a year to prevent this and many other dental problems! If you think dentists in USA are too expensive then you can seek our dentists during your vacation in Cancun and save lots of money.
